what is Deep link?
« on: September 13, 2012, 09:40:16 PM »
Deep link is a device used by sites to point a guest straight to a web page within the web page instead of the web page or home web page of the site. Deeply connecting allows guests to go straight to the information they require, which may be available on a certain web page of the web page, but not on the web page to which the primary link brings.

 Hello Friends,

Deep linking is creating a hyperlink that points to a specific web page or a picture on some website. The url of a deep link contains all the information for pointing to the respective item. Most of the commercial websites object the other websites by creating deep links into their content. This is mainly done either to avoid the advertising done on the main pages.

Thanks and Regards

 Hi Friends,

Deep linking is a tool used by websites to point a visitor directly to a page within the website instead of the landing page or front page of the site. Deep linking allows visitors to go directly to the information they require, which may be available on a certain page of the website, but not on the web page to which the basic link leads.

Thanks and Regards

In my point of view Deep linking is making a hyperlink that points to a specific page or image on a website, instead of that website's main or home page. Such links are called deep links..

Links that go directly to a product will please the user and enhance usability. There are many shopping portals on the Internet and many of these have basic links to a merchantís homepage. Generic links do not meet the userís goals. Do you really want to send your users to a page where they have to click 4 or 5 times to get to the product or information? You need to add value to your site and deep linking is a great way to do this.

A deep link is a term used to describe a link pointing to any section of a web page that is not the home page. For example, if someone linked to this definition instead of the Computer Home page, that would be considered a deep link.

A deep link is a hypertext link to a page on a Web site other than its home page. The "deep" refers to the depth of the page in a site's hierarchical structure of pages. Any page below the top page in the hierarchy (the home page) can thus be considered deep. The term has been given prominence in the legal suit of the Ticketmaster Corporation against Microsoft. A Microsoft-owned site (one of its Sidewalk sites) linked to a page of useful information within the Ticketmaster site, avoiding the Ticketmaster home page. Ticketmaster sued Microsoft for linking without permission, claiming that they were thus being deprived of advertising viewers for the ads on their home page. In fact, their content was appearing within a Microsoft page containing their advertising.
