There is two kind off SEO 1 White Hat Seo and 2 Black Hat Seo

In white Hat We only use ethical and genuine Seo tactics and it also takes time to get result in White Hat Seo

In other Hand Black Hat Seo we manipulate search engines for high rankings and its unethical and spammy way of doing SEO. It can lead to high rankings in sort timing but its very risky and can cause penalties for our site.

There're some activities which are divided in White Hat SEO & Black Hat SEO.
Let's figure it out with examples to understand easily, You're doing Ethical SEO (White Hat SEO) if you're working on On-page optimization & Off-page optimization of website. There're so many activities in On-page optimization & Off-page optimization followed by Google guidelines to rank website higher in search engine result page.
You're doing Unethical SEO (Black Hat SEO) if you're working on paid links, spam comments, duplicate content, article spinning, cloaking, hidden content on webpage, keyword stuffing etc.

Ethical SEO can be defined as search engine marketing using only techniques and strategies that search engines consider to be acceptable.

Also known as white hat SEO, the approach is based on the principle of following the guidelines set by the major search engines rather than trying to deceive them (which is known as black hat and would involve using spammy techniques such as hidden text, keyword stuffing, page cloaking, etc).

"Black Hat" or unethical SEO is using techniques which "game" the system for the sole purpose of  improving Search Engine results (Page Rank) while doing nothing to improve the User Experience (or deliver any benefits to someone doing a search). Search Engines want visitors and users to find something useful when they do a search, and not simply be subjected to spam and trash results. Thus, ethical SEO would be abiding by the rules and coming to good search results by honest means which deliver value to someone doing a search.

Unfortunately, much of the development effort at Google and other Search Engines has to be spent overcoming the efforts of Black Hat SEO to twist search results to the benefit of unscrupulous site owners. Just think how much search could be improved if all that effort could be channeled to useful ends! Sigh. Such is the way of the human race and so it will always be.
