Hi,

I dont know much about blogging and using it for advertising, so my question is would it be a good move or not to create multiple blogs at different servers/free blog sites containing same/similar content that all have link to my website to promote it ? 

Would this be seen as bad and penalize me by Google Yahoo...etc ?

I would say your best bet would be to focus on one site, write quality content that is specific to your niche and then find like minded web sites that will link back to your work by request or just by finding it interesting.

The thing is, Google doesn't care much about links coming from low PR sites, not matter how good the content is on them. If you plan on making blogs to link to another site, you will need to get at least a PR 4 on those blogs to make it worth it. That might be too much work if you think about it. What I recommend is posting on other people's blogs with good comments. You can then leave your website URL there. Look out for the no-follow tags on blogs though. Some have it which can prevent the link counting for anything.

Blogs are proven effective when it comes to site promotion, especially when said blogs already have established audience and relative Google PR. I also think that you should just focus on one blog (of course, with a niche relative to your main website), and get authority backlinks from blogs that Google gives high regard of.

Actually in one blog site, you are can particularly make only one blogs because blog site prevent spams. So maybe if you do this method you can be penalized, but I suggest that do blog posting and blog commenting to promote your website successfully.

Since before blogging is the common way to promote website and there are several websites owners get successful with this method, I guess if you it in a right and proper way you can achieve your goals.

Blogging is great way to promoting site and great resource for income by Google ad sense.

update your blog with good content so people are visit.
