To get high rank in Search engine result page you have to do proper on page optimization and off page optimization of your website. Try to get high PR quality back links to your website on your targeting keyword is also helpful to get high rank on keyword.

Your site should have a clear hierarchy. This means that headings should follow in order from h1 to h2 and so on.

Blogging is nice way to share things with community. I think genuineness is only way to get higher rank in search engines. For that you will require a large time over one to two years. In case you tried speedy results then it won't stable for maximum time. Now Google is very strict against keyword spamming & unindexing whole site or blog.
