Don't konw what to say... in the last 2 weeks, my website's PR has changed 4 times. At the begining of this 2 week period, it was 4, to become suddenly 3. After 2 or 3 days, climbed to 4 again. today I see PR 3, again... In those two weeks, I didn't played with site submission or anything similar. Actually, I've submited once my site (like 3 - 4 month ago and that was all). What I'm missing here? Should I blame Google's "new filter" for this PR mumbo-jumbo? Thanks

Google is still working and updating, although it seems to me that Google is finally settling down. I have a constant PR now and other sites do to for me. Everytime Google makes an update, whether it's with the search results or the PRs, nothing will be consistant for a while until everything is completed.

Hi Xtreme_, My site just recently got a PR 1, and occasionally it is showing PR0, then I will check it again in a few hours and it will show PR1 again. I definitely agree something bizzaro is going one with Google's ranking system. However, I think more concerning is that I have heard through webmasterworld forums that the whole system has been changed again, so sites that used to be in the top 5 for search terms are now showing up in the top 20 instead. The search engine appears to be pushing up non-commercial sites over commercial ones. A good thread to see about this whole debacle can be found at http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum9/6324.htm If you do a search there, you will find many, many recent threads about the whole issue. Very, very concerning...

Oh don't worry, they have done it enough, but I guess they let me free a bit earlier than most of the others.

Yes, but does Google show your site as being related to absolutely nothing? My gaming and entertainment website ( Pthppt.com) has been listed as such for about 8 months now. This came after they started associating my site with a bunch of irrelevant garbage (old government sites dealing with obscure tax laws and GEO reports, and abandoned corporate pages). I asked them to fix the issue, and suddenly I'm related to nothing at all. I looked into Google's tutorials on getting better rankings and relevance through META tags, and followed said advice. No change. I e-mailed them again, asking them to revisit the issue... but got nowhere fast. The amazing thing is that I can find my site in Google by conducting searches based on my keywords and description easily, yet when you look for related pages, it says there aren't any! I knew I was pretty unique, but this is rediculous!

That "similar pages" link doesn't even work for my site or most other sites. I think it's pretty useless and barelly anyone uses it from what i know.

I guess I am one of the barely anyone people as well...I used related when I find a site I like that has completely relevant material. Since I like gardening and there are a lot of sites advertising products but with no real content, if I find a site that is good, I will click related to find other sites that meet the same search criteria.
Also, since both the cache and related buttons are right beneath the link, I have to think there are people clicking on them. I heard someone in webmasterworld question making sure your page looks good in cached view, as he said no-one even looked at it. Turns out that like 10-15% of people always look at cached site b/c it loads the fastest...

wel... the bad news for me is that I'm stuck with a PR3 for now.. and it's lasting for over 3 days.. I don't care this much, but I would apreciate if Google makes it's choice especially cause I don't know for sure how they calculate this PR (well, I know, there are millions more who wants to know this) have a nice day all

The original PageRank formula:
PR(A) = (1-d) + d (PR(T1)/C(T1) + ... + PR(Tn)/C(Tn))

Coon,
Hmmm ... are you sure that the Theory of Googletivity Pageranking isn't E=mc2 (to the Google power)? I could swear that was the formula.
