Hmm, I had a 3 earlier... it changes all the time. 3-4 of my incoming links from PR 4+ sites are not listed with Google yet though. Maybe that will help me a bit.

And yes, it'd be great to have a PR of 10. Hehe, but nowadays sites like Microsoft and even MSN don't have them. There is barely a handful of them... if that.

If you don't want to go to the trouble of hacking a script to remove session IDs the other alternative is to just create a sitemap with links to all your pages with session IDs in them.

Thats what I do with my forums and it seems to work fine (see here). Basically the lazy way to get to the same ends as Coon.

Good suggestion there Adrian. Haven't that of that one but to keep on adding every thread that get's started seems to be kind of time consuming. Or is it not?

The page is generated by a script, so the new threads get added automatically as soon as they are made. It just reads the thread titles and links from the database.

I'm assuming PR is page rating, right?  Also, how do you find out the PR of a site?

yup, it's the page rating. You need to install Googlebar to see the PR. Don't know if there's any other way to see PR though.

Crap, now i see the PR, now i don't again. Sad

Hehe, glad you see it too. It's a good feeling, isn't it?! Very Happy

I am pretty sure you will keep a PR of 4, but it's not definite yet because things are still being looked at and updated by Google. I did a search for you and Google is showing 3 backlinks for your site...

http://www-va.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=link%3Awww.mobile9.com

If you go to www-va.google.com you will be able to look up more precise backlink information that on google.com direcly.

Haha, it's a nice feeling, although it didn't last long Smile actually i had another site with PR 4 and it's not showing on the backlinks. Doesn't matter, as you said, they are updating their list or something.

however, did you notice this? doing these in google yields different results

link: http://www.mobile9.com/
link:http://www.mobile9.com/
link:www.mobile9.com/

weird isn't it?

btw, do you know why va-google is showing different backlinks compared to google.com?

Yeah, I found about that. That's why it's important to keep your links always consistant. Don't link to your site by using www.yoursite.com once and then yoursite.com the next time. Google looks at this as links to two different sites, and it will cause your PR to be split in half.

I am not sure but I got the link somewhere after reading that it has updated backlinks for sites. It might be the page ranks site or server that Google uses? I am not sure but it does the job, hehe. Smile

If you didn't know there is also www2.google.com and www3.google.com for updates to your site. Those sites show that Google has before it will show up on the main Google page. www2.google.com usually shows how Google crawled your site and what you should expect the next time google.com updates its listings.[/quote]
