Hi dear,
I am confused, when I read this article. I do not understand that 404 URL can effect on my website ranking. For more info: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/05/do-404s-hurt-my-site.html
My one site has lots 404 error pages. Please suggest me how; I can control these entire (errors pages) URL?

Thanks

Put this: "ErrorDocument 404 http://www.example.com/" in .ht access file and let me know when your error has been resolved or not.

If you have read it carefully, you will have find your answer:

Quote
The fact that some URLs on your site no longer exist / return 404s does not affect how your site’s other URLs (the ones that return 200 (Successful)) perform in our search results.

You will only loose keywords ranking(if any) for those pages that are returning 404 error. If you have renamed a file, do a 301 redirect from old removed/changed url to its corresponding new url to maintain the ranking for that page.

The factor is that it's generally not possible to eliminate ALL 404 errors detected by a tool like Google Webmasters. this is often as a result of a number of the URLs don't seem to be actual pages on your website however oddly created URLs from things like directory submissions, feeds, social share scripts, etc. typically times these can come back a 404 attributable to some parsing error within the syntax of the address. you sometimes should not worry concerning these.
