Hi,

Is there anywhere a site where I can get quick a rewiew how the most important search engines Work?
I wish to see how I have to construct my pages reference in the best way so that it brings me the best for all search engines.
I have read a lot that for Google it is not important how much sites link to you but that the Quality is more important, but is it the same with Yahoo, Altavista Lycos and so on.

I will use an interesting affiliate programm for my new business and does it make me more negative effects if I will get a lot of affiliate links from not so good sites or does they just been ignored?

Hope that someone can give me some good links. For google I found already webrankinfo.com who is great but for the others?

Thank you for any link and comments

Here's a good place to start:
http://www.searchenginewatch.com/webmasters/
This covers most essentials - plus gives a lot of information on the top SE's, directories - and (most importantly!) how to get into them

Also - another tutorial:
