SEO is a Long term Process. I have mentioned Basic Process that you can do for any website.
Search Engine optimization Process is mention in Following Step:
1) Business Analysis
2) Website Analysis
3) Keyword Research
4) On Page SEO
5) Off Page SEO
6) Tracking and Analysis

now the question is what is on page SEO ?
In on page SEO mainly we make our website Search engine friendly and user friendly. For making a website search engine friendly we check the standard set by search engine and for making it user friendly we check content , graphics and interlinks of website.
In off page SEO we focus in creating more and more links from different domains of our theme. use proper keyword while linking to other domain.

1 First you can analysis your Website
2 Keyword Research
3 Create SEO friendly URL Structure of all urls of website
3 You can use the Unique Title, Description and Meta Tags, use header tags
4 Optimize content with proper keyword density, keyword prominence and proximity
5 Do Page Segmentation
6 Create XML sitemap and submit it in webmaster tool
7 Integrate Google Analytics to check user statistics
8 Create Proper Navigation Structure
These are all on page SEO techniques after doing this you have to do off page SEO activities
