In the past, I used the "Latest Visitor" in the "Web/FTP Stats" to trace the search engine robot's crawling to my site.

After Lunarpages' upgrade to the next Control Panel, the "Latest Visitor" no longer works (I disucssed it in the other forum places). Now I found it difficult to trace the Robot footprints. Does anybody has any good suggestion?

There is a very good traffic analysis software "awstats". I wonder if Lunarpages would get it installed in your control panle. It has some features to log down the traces of SE robots.

If you are referring to the latest visitors' issue, it has been discussed and the answer from lunarpages support team is that the "bug" has been reported to the developer of the C-Panel but not yet solved.

It has been a month time...... still unresolved.....

We have a ticket open with the Cpanel developers about this, we don't write the Cpanel software, so our part in resolving this quickly is limited.

Nick said in another post "This is being worked on, there is no ETA (nor is it expected soon) however, we will post here when it's repaired, we do have a ticket open with the developers of the control panel, hopefully we will hear soon."

If you want an update on this, please e-mail support@lunarpages.com

Hi Damenchoy,

One solution to your search engine tracking problem can be solved by using the QuickCountPro software available on our site.  Take a look--you will be amazed.

Thanks for your information.

I know most of this kind of software requires SSI and that requires your webpage to be named shtml. Is that what your software requiring?

Hi Damenchoy,

Our software does not require ssi. It can be used with any valid web page. We use it on our own site via simple image tag in our html. Here is the link to the script http://www.quentinsagerconsulting.com/smartscript.htm Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Interesting....

I noticed there are two versions. Can you tell me the difference between the Advanced logging Utility and the IP Logging Utility ?

Do both of them do not require the SSI?

Hi Damenchoy,

SSI usage is totally optional and is not required for either package.  The IP Logging Utility is basically a counter whereas the Advanced Logging Utility is a traffic/pattern logger and not a counter.  We use the Advanced Logger on our site as a way to determine visitor browsing patterns. You can also use the logger to determine how long a visitor stayed on a page, we describe how to do this on the logger's detail page http://www.quentinsagerconsulting.com/documents/10021.htm Also the Advanced Utility allows you to view your logs online and gives you DNS lookup of visitor IPs.

If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know.
