Well, there is no secret voodoo magic that you have to learn, you just have to learn how to sign up for the right web site. All three of these major search engine providers give you a way to submit your sites to them via their various webmaster tool collections.

This way you can get direct statistics on how they are listing you and what search keywords you are coming up for.
