Is it a spamming technique to get top positions on the search engine result pages (SERP)? Hello friends, Generally Google bombing is closely related to spamdexing, the practice of deliberately modifying HTML pages to increase the chance of their website being placed close to the beginning of search engine results, Thanks Richard Smith

Google bombing occurs when several links with anchor texts are submitted to a web-site to accomplish a high rating on the Google search engine results pages. People perform Google bombing or washing as a spoof exposing the method used by Google algorithms to give ranks to sites on the search engine index. ----------------------------------------- Thawte SSL Certificate

A Google bomb is an attempt of a community to attach a certain keyphrase to a webpage or a term. The most famous to date was achieved by a community of bloggers with the keyphrase "miserable failure" linking to George W. Bush webpage, and subsequently, appearing as an alternate when someone typed George W. Bush as a query. _______________ Life is too serious to be taken seriously

Well.... at some point, Google may take a disliking to it, figure out how to reliably detect it, and start penalizing sites that do it. There are lots of SEO techniques that have been widely used in the past, but are now considered Black Hat and Google will penalize you for using them. Generally, anything that could be considered a "trick" to "game" the system and artificially inflate your search results could turn out to be hazardous. On the other hand, genuinely "organic" methods of honestly making your site attractive to searchers will probably never be banned.
Don't forget: Google employs some of the best and the brightest computer scientists. If they want to detect some unfair method that's coming into wide use, there's a good chance they'll be able to do so! I'm sure they listen in on the chatter among SEO professionals and read the books, too, to see what the latest methods are. Finally, what's "unfair" is defined by Google. If (when) money ultimately corrupts them, "do Evil" will take over and who knows what that will do to fairness in searches.
