If a site isn't being indexed at all, it could be that search engines either can't find you for some reason, or they just haven't gotten around to visiting you yet. You can try Google to see if you actually are indexed, by adding site:yourdomain.com to a search term you know is in your pages -- this forces Google to return only results for your site, if they have you indexed. If you are in fact indexed, you have to work on SEO. If you are not indexed, you can sign up on various major search engines and manually submit your site. Note that if your site is not in a usual place (/index.*), the search engine will not automatically find it.

Submitting a sitemap (as well as setting up a robots.txt file) will help search engines better index your site. However, it will not help you if they can't find your site in the first place.

One of the basic actions in SEO is making Sitemaps, since this is where the list of your website pages and contents can be found, this is also one of the helping factors so that you can be indexed by Google, but yes, the Admin is right, if your website can't be found, these sitemap are going to be useless.

In that case, you must check if your website has a "noindex, nofollow" tags, view the source code of your site, incase there is, remove it or replace it with "index, follow".
Hmm, then you can also use Google Webmastertools, there is a tool there called " Fetch as Google Bot", which can help you to submit the page that you want to be indexed by Google. Smile

There are many SEO tips and tricks that help in optimizing a site but one of those, the importance of which is sometimes underestimated is sitemaps. Sitemaps, as the name implies, are just a map of your site - i.e. on one single page you show the structure of your site, its sections, the links between them, etc. Sitemaps make navigating your site easier and having an updated sitemap on your site is good both for your users and for search engines. Sitemaps are not a novelty.

Sitemap is basically a summary of your links and pages. It's like creating an robot-friendly table of contents of your website. Robots or crawlers can visit all the pages of your site much faster if you give them the table of contents/guide. This is actually one of the first things that any seo website design company checks in a website.

Sitemaps can prove to be beneficial in certain situations such as the inability of the user to access every area of a particular website through the interface of a browser.

Sorry, but that makes no sense. If you can't get to a section of the site via the browser, due to password protection, ID/password needed, or no links to it from an index file, it shouldn't be indexed by a search engine. In fact, Google has severe penalties for trying to trick it into indexing material that a guest can't normally reach.

A sitemap is normally known as a file of the XML type which has the function of listing the URLs for any site. The sitemap allows the webmaster to add further information about the URL such as the last updates, the changes in the URLs and how often it is made, and also the importance of the URL in relation to the others. Sitemaps can prove to be beneficial in certain situations such as the inability of the user to access every area of a particular website through the interface of a browser.

We submit the sitemap to tell the Google spiders that we are here, for example there are two houses one house with a number using it can be identified easily and another house without any number now when the google spiders came and looks for you have a house number on it means it is going to identify that okay this is the house we are looking for rather than the house without number means google spiders have to search for you, uploading sitemap makes you visible in the eyes of search engine as they don't have to go round and round to search you out .  Clapping

The Sitemaps protocol allows a webmaster to inform search engines about URLs on a website that are available for crawling.

Creating an XML sitemap is an important part of any website building project.  Anyone who has set up a web page and looked into any sort of SEO at all will have heard people say that it is important to get an XML Sitemap.  Yep
