I just checked my site and nothing has changed. The site URL is still wrong... I hope the spidering isn't done for this month.

Well, when Google spidered my site last time it took my old address which was www.soccergrip.com/catalog/defeault.php, but that URL has changed and my site is not found at www.soccergrip.com, so what happens is that people are getting errors when they click the search results on google. What Adrian mean with back to #1 is that his ranking has gone up and he is now listed at #1 for a certain keyword, which I think is Political Forum(s).

Wow, I have read your guys postings and am totally clueless on how you check your rating. Pretty much clueless about search engine stats. I read the search engine link about where to submit your URL but how do you check where you are listed with google?
Also, the entire "how you are ranked" confuses me. Is it by the number of keywords you have on your main page?
Any help on where I can read about this stuff would be great!!
Thanks!!!

A good place to read about search engines is Search Engine World One cool tool on the site is the Sim Spider tool that simulates a search engine spidering your webpage. Another forum by the same group is a forum called Webmaster World, which is very helpful for coding and search engine news. You can join for free in order to post on the forum. When I was first starting out, these two sites provided me with a lot of assistance. I still visit Webmaster World frequently to stay up-to-date with news or when I have a coding question.

You can set up redirects through cPanel so the old URL will continue to work. I recommend this article entitled "Cool URI's don't Change" http://www.w3.org/Provider/Style/URI.html

Search engines use several measures to determine rankings. Not every engine works the same way. You can see this by putting the same keywords in different engines and comparing the selections. My view is the best way to get good rankings is to have a good page. Engines like pages with lots of on-topic content. Some of them get really annoyed if you try to fake it. Another metric some use is how many other web sites link back to you. The point is that engines attempt to make ratings that simulate how well a human would respond to the selection. The better you satisfy human visitors, the better your chance that a good engine will rate you highly. Of course, you want to use good HTML coding and insert accurate META tags.

Wow, I have read your guys postings and am totally clueless on how you check your rating. With the Google Toolbar ( http://toolbar.google.com) you can view the pagerank of any page, with an embedded meter. eg. the LunarForums home page shows up as 5/10 on here. Hope this helps

LunarForums for me doesn't show a pagerank just yet. However the main Lunarpages site does.
