Need addition to website
« on: September 15, 2010, 12:47:39 PM »
Greetings;

Our equestrian club has a basic website hosted here at LP that we created.  We would like an addition that is a bit beyond my capabilities.

 We would like for our members to be able to log in to their own "bio" page and have the ability to post a short bio or history, and some pictures.  Obviously, we need these accounts to be password protected, have moderator confirmation upon registration, and a space limitation for each user.

The website is
http://www.1stohio.com/current/ohio_members.html

If anyone is interested, please email me at rsi.franklin@gmail.com

Thanks!
Russ

Checkout a generic login system I wrote at http://www.notonebit.com/projects/login-system/index.php. It seems to have everything you want, and you could easily add the bio page part. You'd need some coding experience to set it up and add the bio part, but it wouldn't be difficult.

Thank you, I will check it out, it looks like what I need for the log in.  Question is, how would the users upload their content?

Since the system I built is for logging into anything, you'd need to create your own bio forms and then protect them with GeLS. GeLS manages the entire user registration and administration process and allows you to add it to your content. Again, it would take some coding to first create the bio form, and then add GeLS to it.
