I finally took some time to rewrite my old first ugly php script

Result is a new fresh CE TopWebGames http://www.cetopwebgames.com

Some noticable changes:

* Only the top 100 sites will show, so sites with 0 votes will not show
* Pagination implemented , visitor can select how many sites shown he/she wants per page (default 10)
* Screenshot taken of each submitted game and listed as thumbnail

Still to do stuff:

* Premium feature - this will not be a banner to ad as each game already holds a thumbnail screenshot
* faq page
* sitemaps page
* category display function
* auto filled wiki page(s) for each listed game
* cleaning markup, in other words getting rid of old habits and putting deprecated elements into css styles
* PR and alexa ranking to be added

Future possible updates:

* User/Game Owners control panel
* Game stats page, if activated by gameowner (most played at following hours/day - /week /month, players come from countries Huh , etc ... )

Some answers on possible questions

What sites do you accept to be listed ?

We only accept browser based games. Each submitted site is manually checked before listed.

How can I update my screenshot ?

Go to http://www.thumbshots.com/manage/updatethumbshot.aspx to update your screenshot.

What are those glyphs ?

Recommend the game listed

Buy or extend premium feature , not activated yet

Submit a plug for the game selected

Hoover over will show how much people have clicked the game on CETWG, in other words possible signups as they clicked the game on CETWG

How can I update my game info ?

This feature is not possible yet, easiest way is to contact me by PM on the CE forums, don't forget your game ID as that is needed.

Why using CE TopWebGames ?

Voting sites matter, because they are the primary source of new players for games.

Without a constant flow of new players joining the game, any online game will gradually lose players and die off.

Thanks and comments are welcome allthough keep in mind that a lot still needs to be done

Thanks mitch once it's finally finished (if we ever can call a site finished) I port it to 2 other domains I have with LP.

smftopwebsites.com - as it says a kind of directory for sites using the smf forum engine
topgptr.com - directed towards PTC/PTR sites, not my thing but that market share seems relative big

and ... hint ... such a LP site of the month badge wouldn't look bad in that top right corner spot Wink

Thanks Bluewaves but I'm far from a professional,  just basic php/mysql knowledge.

Everyone uses one of those premade voting scripts, thought that it couldn't be so difficult and complex to build my own. My first attempt was functional and working but well was prob against all programming conventions there are... so started again all over. And voilla that's the new/fresh result.

Took some time and is still far from completed as I dig in each syntax I use and see if there is a better method. And biggest nightmare is reading the RFC docs regarding several functions.

Some interesting findings where

alt vs title attributes (html)
file_get_contents() instead of using include() to call parts of the template (php, basicly building a lightweight template engine function)
mail() omg I abused that function in the past (convention wise), by digging into the RFC docs I learned a hell of a lot.
etc...

CETWG is just one of the CEMEDIAs many sites, as a group of web developers they have truley help 1000's of people accross the globe from their forums (www.criminalexistence.com/ceforums) to providing a fre chatroom hosting service. CETWG is a great way for game owners to recive extra exposure for their game. CEMEDIA has done a great job over the past few years and i'm sure they will keep on doing so.
