Hi all,   I've been an LP customer for a number of years (many happy years, with only a few minor hiccups)  and I don't make it a habbit of  pimping my  site on forums but I figured I would this time.

My site is Old Skool Games,  a personal project I have run largely by myself for a number of years.   If you are passionate about (or even just interested in)  classic/retro games  then  I encourage you to stop by and download my currently published issues.   Or maybe even consider writing some game reviews Smile

I've also decided to hold a contest to try and drum up some  user content submissions  (I know people read, per my log files)  and anyone can enter it.   All you have to do is bring your best and give it a shot.

Everything is available for free of course.

I built the latest iteration of the site using a Wordpress backend with  the Pagelines Framework.   It's really quite spiffy.
(note: currently gamma is under a DDoS attack so the site will not load)

Okay, it's a bit late for a reply but I don't get here as often as I would like  Sad

It looks a bit odd that your archives jump from 2007 to 2013, so not sure you actually want site feedback as much as getting more traffic, however . . .

The site looks nice, but I think there's too much whitespace. Maybe add some images?  You probably can't add images of the old games boxes due to trademark/copyright issues, but there has to be some generic games (like jacks or beach balls, etc) that would add some color.  Good luck with the contest!

I don't think there's too much whitespace. It's a matter of taste (more subjective than objective), but I like uncluttered layouts. I wouldn't try to cram as much as possible into a tiny space, or to fill it up with extra stuff because it looks empty. I suppose it's possible to get carried away with being "an artiste" and have too much unoccupied space (forcing unnecessary scrolling or jumps to other pages), but I don't think that this site has crossed that line. Just my 2 cents.

Not bad. I think you need to change the font since it's pretty difficult to read. Also a background might be a good idea.
