Server upgrade broke Noah's Classifieds
« on: October 21, 2015, 03:50:47 PM »
After the server upgrade to PHP 5.5, my Noah Classified's section display's a PHP error - "Warning: Creating default object from empty value in (path). Page here:  http://www.enchantedlens.org/elcc-newclassifieds/ None of the links on the page will work. It's an older version of Noah's Classifieds, so I tried a new install of the current version here: http://enchantedlens.org/currentclassifieds/ It appears to work, but after logging in or registering, you only see a blank page.

I don't know what the "current" version of Noah's is, but according to their website, Noah's is basically out of business and is encouraging users to migrate to Open Classifieds. If Noah's has not, in fact, been recently updated, I would not be surprised if it was incompatible with PHP 5.5. In that case, your best bet may be to migrate to OC, per the website. After a brief read, it wasn't totally clear to me whether all your data will come along, but "migrate" usually implies that it will.

I would assume that Softaculous will drop Noah's in favor of Open in an upcoming update. If you want to stay with Noah's for a while longer, you might check if there is a more recent version available than what's on Softaculous (if that's where you're getting your updates).
