A person needs a little madness...

WWW
« on: January 06, 2006, 10:54:19 AM »

I tried to upload a couple files...and guess what? I was told I used my space! There is NO way that I have used 1GB. I haven't used that much space in 8 years on a 300MB Host!!

What the heck is going on? I also don't get any of my business emails. Spam...and that's about it. I watch the visitors and they still are coming plenty...but no email. I am telling you something isn't right!!

What does cpanel say your usage is?

Disk usage     997.46 Megabytes
SQL Disk usage    7.17 Megabytes
Disk space available    2.54 Megabytes
Bandwidth usage (current month)    283.72 Megabytes

theres' just no way.
I am deleting files now...but that should've even matter much

what also puzzles me...
I have over 1500 people viewing my designs, and not one single person ordering. that's impossible...compared to 2 month ago. I mean...if I would be mega expensive or super ugly...but that's not the case. I am a little worried.

is there a way someone could block my email? or even somehow catch my orders before me?
[i did check my spam filter...and nothing there]

I would start by going into cPanel and checking out the disk usage (2nd row, 3rd over I believe) to see where the space is being taken up... as for the email, if you want to PM me your email address I'll send you a test message to make sure it is going through...

You can also contact support to get extra space added to your account...

Yes, I guess I'll call tech support. That's just weird.
I checked my email, empty cache...still I have only 2.54 MB available.

Did you make any backups? Especially for Fantastico script installs/upgrades? Those will eat up space fast.

Tracie, no backups at all. I just now deleted all my fantastico blogs, etc. [they where empty anyway] I only have zen cart, live help, osTicket, that's it. I have never filled up 300MB before, how can I fill up a whole gig all of a sutton?

I don't understand. it's weird.  Confused

Now...If I go into the Disk usage viewer I get only about 130MB.
I am more and more puzzled. lol after all I wasn't able to upload any images...so something isnt' right.

Check the logs in the temp folder. The Analog temp-file tends to be quite big after a while.

TrailChic i can't think fo what using up your space, but while you are waiting for LP to reply to your ticket (if you haven't had a reply already), i could log into your Control Panel and see if i can see what's using your space if you'd like?

also, did you use an alternate e-mail address to submit your ticket if you are having problems with your e-mail???

I had the same issue on galaxy a couple of nights ago. The cpanel main page said I was over 1GB but disk usage showed less than that. And a few days before, I was not near 1GB and hadn't uploaded anything.
