Hi,

At the start of this year I bought an existing website which had been running for four years. This is hosted via a reseller on LP and is mainly a forum which runs through vBulletin.

Recently I was told that I needed to buy a license as the old owner's one was running out. I didn't have the money until this week and in the meantime the site has been taken down because vBulletin staff contacted about the site being unlicensed.

I have now bought a license and asked for the site to be reinstated, but I have been told (via a reseller) that it's LP company policy not to reinstate sites that have had licensing issues no matter what as they don't want to spend any admin time confirming the license now is okay.

So I lose my site, which had been running for about 4 years, the database, the forum, the design, everything as I didn't have a copy and the files on the server will be deleted within 24 hours. I can't even get a copy of those files.

Can someone confirm this is official company policy as I don't think this is fair.  Confused

Hello MB,

Please email support@lunarpages.com about this question, since the forum isn't the place to find out official company policy, although really why would we care if your vBulletin is licensed or not, since we can't even tell if a forum happens to be licensed by them unless vBulletin themselves contacted us. The only people who know if a vB server is licensed would be vB and the owner of the forum. Lunarpages would have nothing to do with that process.

Again, please email support@lunarpages.com and provide any email you have showing what you were contacted about for this issue from your reseller so we can see what is going on.

I do want to note that if it ends up that Lunarpages did not have any issues with the account, it is still up to your reseller to decide if they want to host your site or not, so if they do not want to host the site anymore, that is between you and the reseller in all actuality.

Thank you.
