I want to get rid of my forum. It's gathering dust at the moment. Guess it was fun while it lasted.

This is my question. I have a phpbb db and it has some tables in it installed by other stuff I use, blog, chat, gallery etc. If I delete the forum will the Database also dissapear?

I backed up the db, should I just delete the whole thing and create a new db? That is a lot of work to find everything and update the new db address and name and on top of that I am not so sure that I know where to look or how in some of the programs.

Is there a way to delete the forum and keep the database, easily with cpanel?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thumbs Up

More than likely all of your forum files are in one folder on your web site. You can delete that folder and get rid of the forum. Then you should go into your database trhru CPanel and PHPMyAdmin and drop all of the tables associated with the forum.

That would seem to be the simplest way to get rid of it. You just have to be sure that you have the right folder and the right tables when you do the delete.

Thanx, I was looking around for similar questions.

One more question and I am not so sure that it can be answered in a public forum. I have my whole website backed up cause you never know, and it is backed up locally not on the server. Where is the damn db. I can't seem to locate it.

thanx again.

WOW I clicked on the member map just to see what it was and I got an error message for 100 lines of code. I thought it was going to shut my computer down....damn. Not so shure about the 100 but it was eneough for me to think about shutting it down. I thought I was stuck in some kind of loop....

You will want to go thru CPanel and phpmyadmin to work with the DB.

Not knowing how you backed up your site, I couldn't begin to guess where the DB is locally for you.

Member Map worked fine for me  Confused
