I have a web site that is up and running and currently we have a discussion bulletin board that is finally getting off the ground. There is some strong preliminary evidence that the users would benefit from a live chat feature.

However, in looking at various posts, not  a great deal of positive remarks have been posted about PhP MyChat with its slow refresh rate, or at least that is what I read.

Does anyone else have any experience with any other Chat Software that they are running on Lunarpages that is not on a separate web server with a monthly fee?

I would like to find something that is compatible with the system here so it would be an easy add on.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using a Pjirc program that runs on another server, but it is free.

You can see the chat room here.

If you like it, you can sign up for and get the code from http://www.afternet.org. What I really like is that you set up an IRC chat room, you can make it private or secret to keep it off the IRC room lists and keep the people who have nothing better to do out of your room. AND, those people who know IRC can reach the room you set up without having to go thru your htm page if they want.
