I searched the forums and did not find a conversation about this, I want to install Joomla but the radio button for "root" as the destination is disabled,

My questions are:

1) is this normal, does LP not allow Joomla to be installed into the root folder?

2) if I install Joomla to a sub-folder will that then become the root of my site requiring visitors to add "/joomla" to the end of my domain name?

Thank you in advance for any wisdom you can pass my way.

Smile

WOW!

Where are the LP forums?

3 years ago this place was actually a place you could get help at, now all I hear is crickets, I even see some questions that have been here months with ZERO replies, way to go LP!

Honestly the only reason I came back to LP was because of the forums that used to be.

Hello,

Please be aware the forums are for users to help other users and not for official support. They are still quite active. Personally, I did not see your previous message until you posted again or I would have replied then.

You certainly can install Joomla to public_html in LPCP. Are you using Softaculous to install it? Webapps is no longer supported as an installer.  In Softaculous it will automatically fill in a folder name but you can delete that and leave the field blank to install under the root of the website. If you install it to a subfolder, yes users would have to add the subfolder to the URL or you can add a rewrite to .htaccess to redirect them to the right folder.
