im trying to upload the phpbb from a download from phpbb.com. ive copied the info to a folder called forum in my root of public_html. and change the config to 666 permissions. then i try to go to the /forum/install.php    says that its not available. 404 error. what i am doing wrong?

double checking my folder via ftp i dont see the install.php where or how do i get this file?Huh?

It is in a subfolder named install. You run http://www.yoursite.com/forum/install/install.php There is also a subfolder named docs that might be useful to read.

I just noticed that the one you currently have on your site is an old version. If you downloaded a newer version, then you need to upzip the file and upload all the new files into that /forum folder.
