Some jerk has a script that is posting to all phpbb boards that allow guest posting.  His username is Pepotamo1985.  There is more info on this in the phpbb community forum.

Thu, I started playing with your Language thing at the top to select different languages, I got some PHP errors on the following:

Yeah, he got my forum too today. Hopefully the visual confirmation and turning off guest posting abilities will be enough to deter this in the future.

Turning off just guest posting wouldn't be enough but visual confirmation would prevent it.

I had visual confirmation prior to his posting. The only thing I didn't have according to your link above was the guest posting. The forums that only allowed registered posters to post had nothing. The three places I used to allow guest posting was where he posted on mine.

I have visual confirmation on, and no guest posting - except in a "login problems" category.  That category was the only one hit.

I blocked anon* and pepo* as usernames... a temporary and extremely feeble attempt at keeping this script kiddie out.

I'm not sure if .12 takes care of this kid's spam - but I guess it's time to upgrade anyway.

nope, .12 does not since what the script is using is not an exploit in any way.
