I think that most people's reasons for not coverting over to SMF is due to scared about the conversion process and if it will be smooth transition with no problems.

If you can give a step-by-step tutorial for people on how to do it, more people will probably convert. SMF is soooo much better in my opinion after having tested all 3 forums.

Thanks everyone.  I will continue working on the problem.  Unfortunately I've got to get some homework done though... so probably a little later tonight I will be able to work on this again.

I am leaving right now finally to go to the store lol (had intended to go like 4 hours ago), so if you do decide to send it to me or just upload it to your account for me to FTP the backup off it, you can PM me.  I should be able to access your site without you needing to provide the FTP login details, so if you just let me know the location via PM, I could be a backup from the account to do the testing (assuming you want to let me do that at all Smile).

I didn't need to convert any previous script over, so I hadn't realized this fact  Very Happy

Yes, I posted a link to the converter script page last page, but it still has a timeframe to do it and steps to follow, and this is what I was talking about...

Finally got everything to work.... I hope!

Simply made a few minor changes to the config data in my phpbb sql backup, then imported the entire backup into my new databse.

Also had a problem with an edited theme .tpl file for the mod to allow user selection of themes.  I had added a comment to explain the mod, but the comment was causing parsing problems.  When I removed the comment, everything worked fine.

What an experience!  I definitely don't like how mods are handled in phpbb.  Time to look into SMF again.
