Hi,

Yesterday I installed phpBB through Fantastico. Everything worked ok.
But today I get error 500 pages in the forum and admin pages.

My forum folder is in my public_html folder. All permissions for folders are set to 755 and for files 755 or 644.

error log:
Premature end of script headers: /home/magrat2/public_html/forum/index.php

Any idea on what's going wrong?

Thx,
Christophe

Do you mean to access the forum?
I use mywebspace.com/forum/ and mywebspace.com/forum/admin/

I've changed index.php to 644 and the images folder to 777 like it said in that article. Still error 500.
Do I really have to change every .php file to 644?? that's deleting the execute permission?? If so, why isn't this done by default?

This is how it looks now

btw, real newb at this

I don't know if it makes a difference but all of my forum files are 644 (except config.php)

I would try contacting LP support.

I have read somewhere that the problem might be caused by the php optimizers they use to increase performance.
It also wouldn't hurt to install latest phpBB version from www.phpbb.com if you know how.

Good luck! I go sleep now...

Hi,

Did you change the domain name's DNS nameservers to point to Lunarpages?  I am staff and looked up your domain name, and I am seeing nameservers that are not ours listed at CentralOPS.  You can likewise see what nameservers are listed for your domain by doing the following:

1. Go to http://centralops.net/co/ and click on "Domain Dossier"
2. Check the "domain whois record", "DNS records" and "network whois record" boxes, then enter domain.com (replacing domain.com with your domain name) in the "domain or IP address" field, then click the "go" button.

The nameservers I am seeing are the following:

   Name Server: NS1.BNAMED.NET
   Name Server: NS2.BNAMED.NET
   Name Server: NS4.BNAMED.NET
   Name Server: NS5.BNAMED.BIZ

It takes 48-72 hours for domain names to propagate and during propagation your domain name can be accessible at one point and inaccessible at another point at its location here.

Thus, did you have this same site setup at your prior host with the same type of entry page setup?  Without knowing if your domain has actually propagated, it is relatively difficult to troubleshoot an issue, and we need details from you on whether the above nameservers were just changed and how long ago they were changed before figuring out why the forum isn't displaying as it could just be DNS propagation and you are trying to view a non-existant page at the prior hosting company.

Thanks.

Yeah, that is true Thu, I hadn't noticed the Internal Server Error was returning our server's name.  It is still confusing though as tracing the domain returns an A record that isn't Xena's IP address (nor any LP IP address), so I am not certain how the domain could even be pointing here...

Edit: Well, it looks like I'm having a conversation with myself now but believe me there was a post above this one about the internal server error being returned having the xena servername in it  Ner Ner

sorry... I deleted the message after I saw your post but then realized it must be pointing to LP's servers somehow due to the error message...

I found your domain and saw the error.

Please contact the server administrator, root@xena.lunarpages.com

This means that the files aren't being pulled from the domain. Did you update the forum URL in phpbb admin control panel? What it looks like is it is not going to your domain name for the forum files. If it did, the error message would direct to the domain email address, not the server's.

If I go to Fantastico > phpBB > visit site, it gives http://magrathea3d.com/forum.
Maybe I forgot to change it in phpbb admin.
Is there any way to change this now? because I also get an error 500 @ http://magrathea3d.com/forum/admin/

I think you need to edit the domain name in your configuration:
