I got mine to work-  had to FTP the backup.sql file to the phpbb/admin directory, then edit the admin_config.php file to point to the file instead of ask for a file from my local machine. It finaly worked and my forum is up ON schedule!   Applause

Now I just gotta get it to work with my shared borders... but that's another thread.

Is that OK to leave the database in the phpbb/admin folder? Could anything go wrong in the future because of that?

I just haven't heard of that method and I'm wondering if that's a "healthy" method for restoring large databases.

muddyoval you are braver than me. I am paranoid of losing my bb data.
I have sent my account/access info to Garvey via PM to see if he can help with this.

I always make a copy before I dork with it- After being imported, you delete the database file from the admin directory and return the edited php files back to normal.  I made copies of the files and renamed the originals so I could put them back to normal afterwards.
I'm glad it worked, but there's now a new annoying problem, so I'll start a new thread on it. It's always somethin!   Ner Ner
