I am running phpbb version 2.0.11, and I am having trouble with two functions:

1) Anyone who attempts to log in or log out of the forum receives this message:

Not Found
The requested URL /forum/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.medim.org Port 80

The error message remains if I attempt to refresh the page. However, if after getting the above error message I click on my bookmark for the site, my forum index page appears, and I find that I have been successfully logged in (or logged out).

2) Also, when I receive an email notifying me of a response to a topic, I receive the same above error message when I try to click on the link to the thread provided in the email. However, I can read the response if I go to the forum.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be going wrong? If so, I would be very interested to hear them.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me,

Lorien

Go to admin panel. There is a page where you can set the URL of your forums. Is it correct? If it is, please create and post a test account here so we can investigate.

indeed, it looks like you have changed your forum directory, if you have done this my guess is you cant get to the admin panel either, you will have to change the directory name back to normal, go to the admin panel, change the URL in their to what you are gonna call the forum, then change the forum directory back Thumbs Up

It might be possible by manually editing the URL. Others in the same situation have managed it. Another option is to manually edit the database using phpMyAdmin, but that should be the last resort and proceed with caution.

Embarassed   Sheepish reply: I checked my forum configurations, and lo and behold, I had the wrong domain listed. Problem solved - but many thanks to those who took the time to answer. Garvey and Thu, I appreciate it!
