When I'm backing up my MYSQL files, do I have to copy & paste the information from the text box or can I check the 'save as file' box in my myPHPadmin screen when I go to export?

Because my phpbb is incredibly large. I saved the dump as a file & it is over 15mb. It's been a half hour & it is only through 16 of the variables loading in the text box.

I just want to make sure I back it up correctly so I don't loose anything. Thanks.

I always use the 'save as file' option through phpmyadmin. When you back up a database you're also saving information needed to restore the database. That's why the saved file always seems later than what you thought it might be.

15MB is large? Mine is over 100  Smile

Yeah yours would take forever & a day to load, lol.

I went & ran some errands & it finally loaded in the text box, but now it froze & used up all my virtual memory. So I'm going on the notion that the file which I saved when I clicked 'save as file' will work. Lets hope so.

Thanks. Smile
