After contacting LunarPages telephone support -- I'm posting here because I wasn't really happy with the answer.

I have multiple websites on different servers.

One of those servers is zuben.

I want to use Fantastico to install Joomla 1.5, but it's not available.  Only 1.0 installations are available.  Mr. LunarPages Support says: "well just download Joomla from their site" even after pointing out several times that LunarPages offers 1.5 through Fantastico ... Mr. Support said: "we don't offer 1.5...."

*GAH!*  Crying or Very sad

Instead of waiting another 20 minutes on hold - does anyone else have any other remedies for this?  I want to use Fantasico because you *know* that everything is installed exactly how it should be.

Switching servers?   Help

Thanks!
-Michael

Do you remember who it was that you spoke with on the phone?

I'll give 'em one of these =  Grr..!!

Is Zuben the server that has Joomla 1.5 missing? If so, let me know and give me your primary domain name and I'll get this taken care of for you ASAP.  Thanks!

Mitch!

I just sent you an email from michael @ reflectingtime.com with the specifics.

Thanks so much for checking into this and unfortunately - I didn't get Mr. Support's name.

Thanks again!

Alright, I have asked a supervisor to pass the word along that the Zuben server needs support for Joomla 1.5 added, however I did see you already had Joomla 1.0 installed.  Now, with the wacky way that cPanel/Fanatico/Joomla handle this is two install options.

You can install Joomla 1.0.x or Joomla 1.5.x, however you can not upgrade from Joomla 1.0.x to Joomla 1.5.x from within Fantastico.

If you want to upgrade Joomla 1.0.x to Joomla 1.5.x then you will need to go to Joomla's web site to get the steps on how to do that.  This mainly has to do with major code changes they made between the two versions.   A script needs to be ran to import old data to the new version/install thats the only way for 1.5.

JessiMIA, that is an odd situation for sure.  Could you submit a help desk ticket, then get me your ticket number - and I would be happy to get our Windows admins to check into that situation for you.

Very correct Mitch.  I realize that I'm going to have to do a full installation of Joomla 1.5 and then migrate the content from 1.0.x on over.  I didn't mean to imply that Fantastico would facilitate the upgrade to 1.5.x to 1.0.x.

Any idea when your administrators will get the Joomla 1.5 installation package ready on Fantastico?

Thanks again!

Not sure on the exact timeframe, I'd say give it 24 hours or so.
