The LP Fantastico only installs 2.0.13 and won't upgrade a current installation beyond that.

I understand we can upgrade manually, but then the whole idea of Fantastico is to automate installs.

The current Fantastico version has 2.0.14 http://netenberg.com/fantastico_scripts.php .

Yes, and as I noted in another post, we are upgrading Fantastico this week, but it doesn't have the most recent, so people will have to manually upgrade regardless as Fantastico does not have 2.0.15...

Fantastico is a 3rd party product that LP provides to members, so LP can't control what version of software is available through Fantastico. Honestly, given the frequency with which phpBB seems to be needing upgrading, I wouldn't be surprised if it was removed as an option from Fantastico at LP before too long. It seems to be nothing but headaches with the constant upgrading.

Oh, and Dark Side, I didn't take your post as a compaint against the LP email, but some people did apparently view the LP email as threatening in tone. From what I've gathered in other threads though, LP is now running a script which will disable older versions of phpBB though to protect against the vulnerability, so if you can't get to your update until Monday there is a chance your phpBB installation might be disabled. Which, now that I say things that way, it's easy to see why some people could view it as threatening... but really it's meant to protect your site, the server, and the sites of everyone who is on the same shared server.

Anyway...

Well, I'm trying to get the updates completed asap but...my darn internet connection is going in and out repeatedly. The tech has been here and gone but he says it will be next week before they can get to me. Something about a line coming to the house?  Confused  So, as soon as it becomes stable, I'll finish the upgrades. Man, when it rains...it pours!  Sad

I feel for you. I know that has to bite big time.  Sad  , but hopefully you'll get all taken care of at your friends house. If you run into any problems, feel free to PM me.  Smile
