I have another site at Lunar, that I've had for years, and managed via CPanel.  However, a new domain that I'm managing at Lunar has Alpaca (LPCP), and I need help.

We have a Wordpress blog on our site that is running fine:

http://curbstonevalley.com/blog/

However, to help manage the inordinate amount of spam we've added some plugins to help stem the tide.  Akismet is working great thus far.  However, I recently installed the WP-Ban plugin to outright block certain IPs/hosts from spamming the comments section of the blog.

I installed WP-BAN via the Wordpress dashboard, and the install seemed to go fine, no errors.  From within the Wordpress Dashboard I can get to the configuration section under "Settings-->Ban" where I've added the offending hosts to the ban list.  Regardless, the blog is still getting spammed by that same source (fesin.ru).  I noticed that when I attempt to "Preview the Banned Message" in the Dashboard WP-Ban settings area, I get an internal server 500 error.  See:

http://curbstonevalley.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-ban/ban-preview.php

The plugin developer is adamant it's not a problem with the plugin, and that I'm running the right version (1.50) for the version of Wordpress I'm using (2.8.4). He suggested I check the Apache Error logs, but I see from:

http://www.lunarforums.com/lpcp_control_panel_help_and_tips/lpcp_error_logs-t53193.0.html

that LPCP users don't have access to those logs at this time?   Blink  As such, I have no idea where to go from here.  Any suggestions?  WP-Ban is clearly not functioning at all. I've checked directory paths referenced in the php file above, and checked directory/file permissions, and I don't see anything amiss there.  However, I can't dig further without knowing the nature of the error.   Head Bashin   Has anyone else had a problem configuring this plugin that can point me in the right direction?  Any thoughts much appreciated.

I see permissions incorrectly set under /public_html/wordpress/wp-content to 777. Since we run PHP as suPHP, that will cause an error. Folders should be 755 and files should be set to 644. You may go through those subfolders to correct permissions on folders and files or we can do a mass change for you if you email support@lunarpages.com
