How Do I Find My Server Name?
« on: June 16, 2009, 07:52:12 PM »
Feel like I am missing the obvious.  All these servers moving - schedule listed by name.  No idea what the name is of my VPS server.  How do I find out?  Thanks.

I find the easiest way is to traceroute your domain name, the last hop is usually carries the server name.

Steve, if it's for the domain in your signature you'll probably need to speak to the host (it seems they are hosted on BlueHost).

It used to be that you could see the name of your server from within cPanel. If you're using the LPCP I'm not sure whether it displays the server name, but I'm sure if you drop the support team a message they would be happy to identify your server.
