SSL Certificate
« on: October 29, 2007, 06:41:54 PM »
I setup several new domains in my VPS account. When I access my clients Plesk control panel the first time using IE7, I get a page that says:

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

There are two options:
Click here to close this webpage.
Continue to this website (not recommended).

If I click Continue, it brings up the Plesk control panel login page.

With Firefox, I get a popup dialog that says the certificate is from lunarpages and may not be valid.

How can I install my own certificate?
Can I install one certificate for all of my domains (which are using a shared ip address) so that they see my certificate rather than lunarpages seeming invalid certificate?

The certificate for the Plesk panel can be installed in Plesk under Server > Certificates. In order to not receive security warnings accessing the control panelm, you need to purchase the certificate from a recognized certification authority. This can be done trough Lunarpages.

It is possible to use only one certificate for control panel access, so it would be recommended to issue the certificate for a common server name which will be used for access by all clients, for example, server.domain.com.
