Would the current offer on Lunarpages which is

Free domain name*
512 MB Memory
30 GB Disk Space
1000 GB Bandwidth
1 IP Address
Parallels® Plesk Panel
Parallels Virtuozzo Container

£26.99

Be ok for a basic forum that is phpbb with a couple of addon modifications that has a memberbase of say 500 but only has about 90 of it's members visit a day but actually has about 40 members on at any one time.

I have been thinking about the VPS option but last time I asked I was informed only the Windoes Pro XEN at £49.95 would be sufficient which is well out my price range.

Love to hear thoughts of other people using VPS for forum websites/

Thanks

With the users/bandwith you mentioned the VPS plan you stated would be way more then enough. You could save yourself some money and start with a shared hosting solution until you really needed the VPS.  I ran my site for a few years on a shared plan with few issues and when I needed to move up to VPS the Lunarpages Support team moved everything to the new server for me.
