I'm setting up a new domain on my server that will be using GMAIL to handle the email.

So MX records for the domain are changed to :

10   ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
20   ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM

etc..

Server generated emails are bouncing when emails are sent to address at the domain with this setup.

I did this on a lunarpages shared account before and the server admin had to :

- remove the domain from the "localdomains" file
- add the domain to the "remotedomains" file

My question is, is this something I can setup on my VPS? or do I need to contact support and have them change these files?

I looked in my /etc/ folder and don't see a "localdomains" or a "remotedomains" file...

What you need to do is dependent on your control panel, and what mta your server uses.  If you provide what control panel you use We maybe able to help you further.

I am using Plesk.

I also submitted a support ticket.

The Admin responded, all I needed to do was :

On Plesk to avoid email to be sent from local mailserver you need to disable Mail for this particular domain in :
Plesk>Home>Client Accounts>MyClientAccount>Domains>mydomain.com >Mail Accounts>Mail preferences>Mail service

That worked!
