Hello,

I've had my VPS since last year and I'm pretty much hitting my resource limits, which is bad I know but I've been looking at Lunarpages Dedicated Hosting plans, all very reasonable good specs and all but what I'm looking for is a plan that would mostly suite me and my website.

More on my site it's a gaming website that allows users to join, these type of sites can eventurally grow and grow so I want a plan that wouldn't hit resource limits let's say when I've got over 200 users registered and actively using the site.

Also I need a plan where full control over everything (root access), does anyone know if theres any restrictions on what your allowed to install on a dedicated server (third-party software/scripts) ?

I would appreciate if someone could suggest a plan that would best suite me and my website, though keeping it within a reasonable price range.

Thanks in advance  Thumbs Up

*** I do apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

Hi Bennyy007!

I would highly suggest our Linux VPS hosting plan here:

http://www.lunarpages.com/virtual-private-server/

or possibly one of our low end dedicated hosting plans:

http://www.lpdedicated.com/

If you want, you could write up a quote of what you need as far as hosting, price and specific features and send 'em to sales@lunarpages.com, and our sales team would be happy to get you a quote or call you back to discuss the setup one on one.   Thumbs Up

Mitch- he's already using the vps.
What kind of limits are you running up against?Storage or cpu? I'm pretty sure LP is about to come out of beta testing with a new Xen based VPS, which I have been working with. It gives full root access, and I've been able to compile applications with no problems- installing the latest MySQL and PHP versions, etc. (the only caveat is the kernel must be xen enabled, but I've updated the kernel several times and rebooted with zero problems).
That said- I'm certain that the dedicated plans give full access, and the ability to install and run any (legal) application you want.

Hi Bennyy007,

On a dedicated server you can control everything as you have root access and you can install anything that you want and it's supported under CentOS Linux with Plesk or cPanel (If you want a control panel). For example on a dedicated I you have 1 Gb of RAM which is double you have on a VPS, 80 Gb storage which is 4 times more than on a VPS. Also RAM/CPU/HDD are all upgradable so if your site grows more you can add another Gb of RAM or additional storage or if you also need more bandwidth you can upgrade to a dedicated II plan. I hope this is helpful  Thumbs Up
