Hello,
Currently i'm running on a VPS package after a year with shared one. Currently my site is offering direct file download which the file size is 3-5 MB and with averages of 4000 visitor a day. And lately, my site is often going down when having a traffic spike. I think the problem lies when lots of user download on the same time. Is there a better setting for this kind of site? Or is there better application/platform to handle file hosting site? I heard that php is not efficient/expensive resource for this kind of site. Currently i'm using Wordpress for my site and i already limited to download one file for each user on 3 minutes cap.

Thanks for any help  Smiling

Your VPS should be able to handle that many daily connections and those downloads I would think.

Look in "Virtuozzo >> Resource Alerts"

Does it have any alerts logged at the time your server is experiencing trouble?

Also explain how your site is going "down".  Do you have to restart your container? or is your site simply unavailable temporarily.
