Help!

So, I was out of the country for two weeks and was able to check on my website only periodically. I come back, and my website is crashing constantly, and memory used is 99%. I have no idea how it got that high, and I can't figure out how to figure out what has been sucking up all that memory. Nothing big has been added to the site and no changes have been made since I'm gone.

I'm a VPS newbie, so I'm not sure how confident I am around the VPS panel, so I wanted to ask here: How do I figure out what is sucking up all the memory and fix the problem?

i haven't used a VPS server as yet, i would advise dropping an email to support@lunarpages.com however as they may be able to provide some helpful information.

Hello,

Can you provide us with some server statistics, such as how many visitors to your website in one hour, one day? Also, is your website static, or does it use a scripting language such as PHP/MySQL?

I ask this because VPS sometimes have trouble serving websites with more than 150+ concurrent connections. This only really becomes a problem if you have a huge site with a lot of traffic and dynamic processing.

I wonder that was some one attacking your site? Try to put a limit in your Apache might solve the problem.
This is how I setup my Apache MPM specific:

<IfModule prefork.c>
ServerLimit  65
StartServers  5
MinSpareServers  5
MaxSpareServers  10
MaxClients  65
MaxRequestsPerChild 10000
</IfModule>

This setting gives me around 75 concurrent connections and it should be reasonable for most sites.
