My move to a VPS account has been a learning experience to say the least, and thankfully I only have a few more issues to get figured out. I Did some searching and I can't find a firm answer for this one, Is the Zend Optimizer pre-installed on VPS hosted accounts (w/Plesk)?

Hello Aneurysm,

Zend Optimizer should be added to your VPS, if you requested it on sign up or upgrade. Otherwise, if you haven't change the PHP version installed on your server, it can be easily added by the support. If PHP has been upgraded from the default one, Zend Optimizer should be manually installed. It is not hard and instructions from Zend should be helpful for you.

Should you have any further questions, just ask.

I didn't specifically request it, but I did pay LP to handle my move from the shared server to the VPS so it was probably just missed in the move. I guess my next move would be to open a support ticket and have support set it up for me. It's probably about a 3 minute job for them.

OR... There are two Linux versions of Zend Optimizer available for download, 32bit and 64bit. I can look in Plesk and see that the server is running on Linux v.whatever but I cant find any place that tells me what "bit" version it is.  If I can find out I may tackle the Zend install on my own and possibly learn something in the process.

I opened a ticket and LP Support wanted $75.00 to set it up for me. SO I kinda got if figured out, I was able to turn it on in Plesk under Virtuozzo > Applications then there was as easy as a checkbox but it is a few versions old. If I wanted to install the latest version does anyone know what directory I should install it to?

Hello Aneurysm,

You need to use the 32-bit version. There is no specific location for Zend Optimizer, usually it gets installed under /usr/local/Zend or /opt/Zend. After that, you just need to ensure the Zend library specific for your version of PHP is loaded in /etc/php.ini file where the path to the library is specified.

Please advise, if you get any further questions with regards to this.
