HEKA Server Undergoing Migration?
« on: February 08, 2018, 11:56:52 AM »
Hey there LunarPages folks,

Is the HEKA server undergoing migration today? All of my WordPress sites are not working with the error "Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress."

I did not receive an email indicating that the server is being migrated, nor is it mentioned in the Hosting Server Bulletins. However, I do see in Control Panel that "PTAH, HEKA are undergoing post migration maintenance. There will be service timeouts during this period, please accept our apologies in advance."

Thanks,
Curt

I don't see any notice under Server Status for HEKA being moved or upgraded, but it's possible someone forgot to post a notice. By the way, someone on another server is getting the same error: http://www.lunarforums.com/php-and-mysql-support/your-php-installation-appears-to-be-missing-the-mysql-extension-which-is-require/ You might want to open a ticket and bring this to support's attention.

Thanks, Phil. I see that I am not the only one having this problem. It would be good to get some sort of explanation. As with the others who have posted in the topic to which you linked, this started happening for me very recently, within the last 24 to 48 hours.

The problem has been resolved thanks to LunarPages technical support. (I opened a ticket and they fixed it in about 45 minutes. Yay!) The server was migrated to Centos 7, which no longer supports suPHP, which was supported by the previous versions. My .htaccess file (at the root and in a couple of my domain folders) had some suPHP_ConfigPath lines in them. Commenting these out got things working again.

It sure would have been nice to be alerted to suPHP going away. That suPHP_ConfigPath statement has been required for a long time to tell PHP where to find php.ini. If suPHP_ConfigPath is going away, I would like to know where it expects to find php.ini. As a larger issue, if suPHP is going away, are "world writable" directories and files now legal? Not that they're now a good idea...

Well, it sounds like you know more about this than I do. But I believe the suPHP_ConfigPath lines were added to my sites in order to go use one php.ini when LunarPages folks added an auto_prepend_file to my sites to force a recaptcha page when people attempted to log in to my WordPress sites. I suspect that the recaptcha logic is no longer working.
