My domain is registered....

and from what I understand, all I have to do is get a host, and then input the domain numbers (DNS) with them and I'm all set to go.

Can someone tell me how long it would take to get online?

thanks

That's right.

just sign up for an account at www.lunarpages.com

Then e-mail support@lunarpages.com asking to get your domain name added to the account.

After that, visit the people you registered the domain with, and ask them to change the name servers to the lunarpages ones, which are listed on the FAQ page of www.lunarpages.com

Due to limitations of the internet, it can take up to 72 hours for the domain to start working all around the world. It's because all the DNS servers of every ISP take time to update.

Can they also host .biz domains???

Are their servers fast? (website examples?)

How is dreamweaver with the website host/ftp.

Is the database Perl and DMB ?

Biz domains can be hosted.

A list of domains that can be registered is available on the signup page.

The servers are very fast, and more are added, before the existing ones start to slow down.

An example of the speed can be seen at www.uglypeople.co.uk (my own website).

Some users have recently had speed problems with Dreamweaver. However, it is very strange that it should happen, and the problem has been investigated.

FTP speeds are fast, and that's what dreamweaver uses to connect. You should not experience any problems in that department.

The database can be accessed by Perl. I'm not sure what DMB is. The databases are mySQL.

Just to add:

You can get a demo of the Control Panel, which lists what things (and versions) are installed, at http://www.lunarpages.com/admin_panel.html

It lists all the Perl modules installed.

Is DMB a Perl module?

no, it's a database.

MySQL will work too.

I ask as I have used ikonboard forums for clients and it's one of the options.

Thanks

Ah, well, lunarpages databases are all mySQL.

Most scripts use mySQL or text files.

Anyway, I hope you sign up and enjoy lunarpages.
