I have been asked to try and get a forum running. I previously took a look at the Forum install from the Control Panel, and cannot remember whether I simply use the Forum button to get it going, or if I have to FIRST go and define a MySQL database, and THEN do the Forum install. Which is the proper order in which to do this?

Secondly,  is there some simple set of directions on how to get this forum configured? What I do remember seeing when I examined it (and uninstalled it) previously was that there seemed to be a LOT of configuration options, enough that I felt overwhelmed with the number of things that had to be done just to create the basics on getting it started. Are those instructions available with the install, a "Forum for Dummies" set of instructions?

CPanel will set it all up for you, including the database and database username.

The default settings that are installed automatically for you should work fine until you get used to all the advanced features.
