Greetings,

I have published a Frontpage 2002 web to a subdirectory of my site since I usually use Dreamweaver/Fireworks MX for the rest of the site. Frontpage seemed to have some features more easily accomplished (call me lazy or overworked, whichever). I have ASP enabled. Let me rephrase that, I paid for ASP.

Ok, the point. When I try to open pages I get:

"The Include file '../../../_fpclass/fpdblib.inc' cannot contain '..' to indicate the parent directory."

each time.

Any ideas? does it want
quote:
public_html/fp/_fpclass....
or

http://www.mysitename.net/_fpclass...

or some other combination?

Thanks for any advice. Frontpage and its extensions drive me   "[bat]"  y

What?!!

Your question has made me very confused!

Please give a URL of the site you are having a problem with.

I went to www.mysitename.net and nothing was there.

I'm guessing that is just an example  "[confused]"

I am confused also.

How, exactly, did you publish FP to a subdirectory?

Sorry. Guess I needed to be more specific. Frontpage is obviously not my area of expertise.

The site in question is/was cabinfeveronline.net.

However, I believe the problem is "me" in this instance. I was trying to use a Frontpage 2002 Database wizard to create a simple input/results page(s). I saw elsewhere in this forum that MS Access db's can't be used with Apache/Unix servers even if ASP is enabled? I assume this is true.

It gets more interesting...in an attempt to rid my site of this non-functioning "Frontpage web" that I created at cabinfeveronline.net/fp I successfully wiped out access to the entire site. After a moment or two of panic I uninstalled/reinstalled FrontPage extensions and restored access to the site.

Somebody please take FrontPage away from me before I hurt someone!

On a very related note....how do I rid my site of the vestiges of this Frontpage web without removing access to the site? I see all the subdirectories FrontPage created and learned this morning what happens if you delete those files...LOL!

I think I'll stick with Dreamweaver MX. Guess its time to learn PHP.MySQL.

Thanks.
