I have been requested to put background music on a new site. The client not only wants background music to play when the site is visited, but they also want the music to persist between pages. ( they also want a toggle button thank heaven )

Does anyone know the best way to achieve persistent background music on standard xhtml transitional pages? Thanks.

Sorry, can't help you nor do I know of any way to do that between webpages.

However, I can tell you that it would cause me to leave that site in a huge hurry. There is nothing more annoying than background music on a website.

My old school suggestion would be some sort of Iframe .
Main window with musak would be the outer frame (so keep playing ) and inner page would be your content.
I dont know if anyone still uses Iframes anymore   Confused  but I think that would give you constant musak  Crying or Very sad

I still use iFrames but only to forward a domain to another and to keep the address static. The browsers all still recognize them. I thought of that but if I am not mistaking the address in the address bar would stay constant unless you got into some serious framing.

I had a fully framed website and it was a lot of work because each frame is kind of like a distinct webpage. Might be to much work to be worth the effort.
