Another good start.. is just use the search on this forum.. search the entire forum for SSI..

I know crazy lady posted a bunch of SSI commands, and there are many good references linked out of this forum!

SSI is really simple to learn, and use. It can be quite powerful! Basically most of the commands look something like this:

<!--#include="somefile.txt" -->

as a side note... on lunarpages servers, as well as many other servers, pages with ssi commands need to be renamed .shtml instead of .html. this just informs the server to look for ssi commands.

unless of course you add

".html" and "server-parsed" to your apache script handlers.

If you don't have ssi or php.
Why not try
code:
<iframe>

this will display a frame anwhere on your site and you only have to edit the one file.
More information here and related sites:

Hope this helps   "[Smile]"

SSI basically just means a server-side include.  It's basically file A getting plugged into file B.  There's a couple ways to call up a SSI, depending on what you're using language wise.
Gotta be at least an shtml to call up a page that is executable (i.e a script).

Anyay, forget the rest...come join the best!  "[Wink]"

Never heard of templates? They are great for both changing your content or layout with just 1 page, i advise using dreamweaver 4 or 5, personally i cannot use them but the webmasters and webdesigners at my college use them for the entire college site ( http://www.west-cheshire.ac.uk )
