I'm wondering if someone could help me out with navigation bars.  I use Dreamweaver.  I would like to use the rollover functionality (which I have been able to do successfully) with an additional twist.

I would like to have the 'down' button be active when that particular page is being viewed.

I don't want to use frames and also would like to have the navigation in an include page so I only have to update one page.

Any ideas?  Has anyone accomplished this?

Thanks,
Barb

I'm not sure what you mean by the "down" button.  The image that shows when the mouse button is depressed?

wouldn't the easiest way to do that be to make the "up" state on that page the "down" states img?

Yeah, down meaning depressed.  Or in other words a different picture than up or over.

How do I make the 'up' state the 'down' state for that page.  I think that is where I am having the trouble.

How do I code it so that if this page then show this otherwise that?  I tried it with JavaScript but it doesn't seem to be quite working.

You can make the standing image the same as the "down" state image, and that'll do it.  Then your hover image (which would be a different image) would show on hover.

If you want your down state image to be the same as the regular image that loads with the page you're on, just leave the 'down' field blank.

I believe I am thouroughly confused...  Confused  Which isn't hard!  Wink

How would it know if it's that page or not though?

The page is www.barbsmith.net/psdesigns/includes/navigation.htm if you feel you might want to talk a look.

I created it with Dreamweaver.

Thanks for your quick repsonses!  I am impressed at the activity and participation in the Lunar forums!  Very Happy

Ok, I belive I've got you.  Actually, I think you may have to make a separate bar for each page.

That's what I was afraid of.   Confused

I might try the JavaScript forum.  I thought I almost had it working at one point.

Thanks for all your input!
