Greetings,

I am working on my first website, using photoshop, ImageReady and Dreamweaver.  I used ImageReady to create mouseover buttons...a simple process.  Then I used the template I made to add content, etc. in Dreamweaver.  When I tested the site in both programs, the mouseover buttons worked fine, but when I loaded it on the server, they don't work at all.  Is there an obvious fix? or should I go back and change my process?

Thanks,

JAG

Hi jag,

I looked at your website and assume the mouseovers are for the left-side navigation elements.  I looked at the source code for this page, and found the image path is listed as images/topimage1.gif for an image that is displaying.  I checked this image in my browser at http://www.1020first.org/images/topimage1.gif and it shows up.  Next, I checked the path to a non-displaying rollover called images/1020first---Template-Dra-08.gif.  I typed http://www.1020first.org/images/1020first---Template-Dra-08.gif into my browser and it did not display.  To me, this would mean you have not uploaded the rollover images into your images folder.

I hope this corrects the situation.

You were right....I was looking at my local site image folder...I don't know why Dreamweaver didn't load my mousover buttons...The whole thing is a little sloppy, but I'm working on it.  Thanks for the second pair of eyes!

Cheers,

JAG

Hi jag,

You're welcome. Also, thanks for letting us know this was the problem.

I can explain why Dreamweaver didn't upload the images as dependent files (since usually all dependent files are uploaded by Dreamweaver).  Dreamweaver doesn't check links, dependent images, or anything in JavaScript, which is what the rollovers are in.  So, you have to manually check links, upload images if you reference them in JavaScript.

Again, I hope this helps.
