I'm looking for any feedback anyone might have regarding my site - www.ukhoopsfans.com

Some background...

I've been running the site as a hobby for about five years now. It started off being a basic site coded in HTML with a forum. Then, for a little while, I used SubDreamer - http://www.ukhoopsfans.com/indexback.php Now, I've installed SimplePortal and I've been playing with it a little. Sounds like they have a version that will let you do simple pages around a forum.

I liked SubDreamer, but as I'm looking to have a site/hobby with as little expense as possible, I dropped them when their version which would tie into SMF was going to cost $99.

So with that said, I'm basically looking for any suggestions that anyone might have. The forum is definitely the meat of the site. The site is meant to be an inexpensive hobby that users will enjoy. I'm at a point where I've got some work to do to get the site looking the way I want it (I'm kinda waiting until Curve for SMF comes out). Seems to make sense to pair that with figuring the rest of the stuff out. Do I want the site to be the boards only? If not, is an add on like SimplePortal robust enough? Is a CMS (an open source option) overkill? Or does someone have a suggestion that I'm not considering? About the only think I'm not open to is going back to a static HTML page site just because the CMS/portal systems made editing content from anywhere so easy.

Open to any and all suggestions.

I like it, nice/simple/to the point. Smile  Only thing I might change - or extend, would be the description of what the web site is about at the top.  Might give your visitors a little 'bit more information about who you are, what you do and what these boards are there for.  You could also give a little more information in some of your posts too, like this one.  I would ask, who was there, what was it about, when did it happen and more.  Also, well worth mentioning, if you add the "Powered by Lunarpages" banner in the footer/sidbar or anywhere else you could get a chance to win one free year of web hostingVery Happy
